back Difference in comparison with polymer blends such as EPDM/PP
The main difference between styrene-based TPE (TPE-S) and polymer blends is its morphology. Whilst the basis of TPE-S is a block copolymer (SEBS or SEPS) with hard end blocks and a soft central block, polymer blends such as EPDM/PP involve a dual-phase system which occurs by "mixing" elastomer particles in a thermoplastic matrix. In this case, the elastomer particles may be either cross-linked or non-cross-linked.
